For economic growth to be sustainable it must be inclusive, meaning conditions must be deliberately designed to integrate all within the population, bridging inequalities and allowing all to access quality work and shared prosperity. For business, this could mean, for example, creating equitable work environments that integrate disadvantaged populations and offering living wages. It could also mean building the capacity of low-income farmers or SMEs to integrate them into the supply chain or developing innovative distribution approaches to hard-to-reach communities among other interventions.
 
The conversation explores the catalytic effect of business practices that combat poverty, increase inclusion, and expand opportunity on improved corporate performance featuring speakers from: Hudson Sandler, InAble, Corteva Agriscience and B-Lab East Africa

Tax Laws Amendment Act 2020

Further to the Presidential Directive dated 25th March 2020, the National Assembly debated the Tax Laws Amendment, Bill, 2020 and passed it with several amendments. The Bill was assented into law by the President on 25 April 2020 and is now in force.The Tax Laws (Amendment) Act, 2020 has introduced amendments to the Income Tax Act, Value Added Tax Act, 2013, Excise Duty Act, 2015, Tax Procedures Act, 2015, Miscellaneous Fees and Levies Act, 2016, Kenya Revenue Authority Act, 1995 and the Retirement Benefits Act, 1997.
